Arm Liposuction

This procedure is usually done in younger women who want excess fat removed from their upper arms, but have tight skin. Since fat is the only tissue removed here, your previously "tight" arm skin can take on a looser appearance. And if you had loose skin to begin with, the problem can be compounded.

The Procedure

  • You will be put under anesthesia
  • Your arms will be secured on arm tables/boards
  • Incisions will be made close to your elbow and arm pit
  • A solution that makes fat firm will be injected into your arm - this makes removal easier
  • A cannula (rod) is used to suck out the arm fat
  • The incisions are stitched up and covered with bandages

The operation takes a couple hours and you don't have to spend the night at the hospital. After a week, the stitches are removed and you can resume normal physical activity.

On average, the cost will be $3,000-$5,000 depending on where you have the procedure done.

The main issue is that you can be left with loose skin once the fat is removed. And the only way to correct this is with a brachioplasty, but this procedure leaves scars on your arms.

Also, there is no guarantee that the arm fat won't come back.
