Cancellation Letter for Event

Dear Mr. Jai,

I am writing this letter to inform you that the New Year's event that we have organized is being cancelled.  Several of our employees met an untoward accident last week and the company Board has decided to realign a portion of the company funds for the medical expenses and medical aid to the said employees.  The company will instead be holding a special New Year's dinner for all employees, friends, and business partners of the company including you.  The said dinner will be on the same date and venue of the initial scheduled event.

We hope that you would still be able to celebrate the coming of the New Year with us albeit in a simpler manner.
