Chromomycosis

Chromomycosis is a chronic localized invasive fungal infection of skin and subcutaneous tissues characterized by verrucous plaques on the leg or foot, caused by dematiaceous (dark-colored) fungi.

Causes:

* Traumatic inoculation of saprophytic soil fungi
* Phialophora fungi
* Fonsecaea fungi
* Cladosporium fungi
